Why does Joplin update 3.5.13 show 'FR, Nancy, Joplin, Joplin' on Windows 11?

Operating system

Windows

Joplin version

3.5.13

Desktop version info

Joplin 3.5.12 (prod, win32)

Sync target

Joplin Cloud

What issue do you have?

When I run Joplin-Setup-3.5.13.exe the "Don't run - Windows protected your PC" pop-up dialog lists "FR, Nancy, Joplin, Joplin" as the publisher. What does this cryptic publisher name really mean? Just curious.

@rdgarve123 welcome to the forum.

It looks like it is the owner information from the code signing certificate.

"Subject": "CN=Joplin, O=Joplin, L=Nancy, C=FR"

Common Name (CN) in a code signing certificate is the field that identifies the organisation or entity that owns the certificate.
Joplin

Organisation (O) identifies the legal entity that owns the certificate.
Joplin

Locality (L) identifies the locality or city where the organisation that owns the certificate is located.
Nancy

Country (C) identifies the country where the organisation that owns the certificate is located.
France (FR)

Thank you very much. That all makes sense now!
