What issue do you have?

For info (I copied this in the Discord in dev, with the full log if you want it). Just not sure if it will get seen by the right people there, or not, and might help others here

Joplin closes after a few seconds

Which error messages from the log file do you need Horvat?

So, all week my joplin has the same issue. Windows 11 desktop very recent version, crashes out shortly after lunching. Just will not stay loaded. The reason seems clear in the logs

As mentioned, the full log is in the Discord dev room.

As a workaround, if anyone is getting this, if you go to the C:\Users\username.config\joplin-desktop folder and edit settings.json to set the 2 auto update features to false, Joplin will stay running, so, it certainly seems related to the log errors.

Guessing this is all server side/packadging, but would be good if client handled the errror.

Oh I see, that's probably because the code signature has changed in the new release. It is valid but different from the previous one, thus the error. Unfortunately I don't think we can do anything about it since you'd need to update to fix the issue, but updating crashes the app.

Would you mind sharing the full log, with line numbers so that at least we know where it happens? Even if the signature check fails, the app at least should not crash

Same here, same crash log. Closes after a few seconds. Problem is that reinstalling does not help. The problem persist

Here are two things to try:

1. Try disabling the auto-update setting: 1) Disconnect from the internet, 2) disable the setting, then 3) quit Joplin with file > quit.
   • "Enable auto-updates" is not to be confused with "Automatically check for updates".
   • "Enable auto-updates" is disabled by default, so might not be enabled.
2. Switch to a pre-release version of Joplin (e.g. v3.5.6). Be aware of this comment about compatibility with older versions before upgrading.
