What is blockquote ("> ") shortcut?

I copy-pasted text with several lines:

Line text 1
Line text 2
Line text 3

How I can select it all and mass cite like?

> Line text 1
>
> Line text 2
>
> Line text 3

or

> Line text 1
> Line text 2
> Line text 3

I don’t know if there’s a shortcut, but I do know that you can press&hold the “alt” key, then click and drag your mouse, to enable multi-line-editing.

With this, expand your cursor to several lines at once, and edit them all at once.

Thank you man. I knows

  1. In my OS multiedit enables by ctrl+alt
  2. It’s a little expensive procedure that reduces productivity and user experience (game who hits the dart + unexpected behavior)

Why do you want to insert a ">" at the beginning of each line ? Just insert one ">" at the beginning of the first line and you are done:

Line text 1
Line text 2
Line text 3

End of mass citing.

Not sure if it fits your use case but you can also add code formatting using three backticks before and after your text.

lots of stuff here

This formating is for code. Problem with it

  • unwrapping of the text
  • highlighting of the words

Similar do “Tab” before text or 4 space symbols
