Welcome to GSoC 2026 with Joplin!

Hello everyone,

My name is Kareem Abu Al Enein. I’m a recent Computer Engineering graduate from Cairo University, Egypt, and I enjoy building systems that solve real-world problems.

I recently started exploring the Joplin project and the community around it. I’m particularly interested in the LAN Sync idea because it sits at the intersection of networking and software engineering, which is something I’m currently learning more about.

Lately I’ve been expanding my knowledge in cybersecurity and networking, and I’m taking networking courses from Cisco from a network engineer’s perspective. It’s been really interesting, and I’m excited about the possibility of applying that knowledge from a software engineering perspective in projects like this one.

At the moment I’m also reading more about different approaches used to implement LAN synchronization and exploring the Joplin codebase to become more familiar with how things work.

Outside of that, I’m currently building All-in-one fitness companion called ARISE:
