Web clipper and Joplin portable

Hi,
for IT security reasons my org doesn't allow us admin rights on our machines, so I have to use the portable version of Joplin. It's working fine, all I'm missing is the web clipper.

I'm just wondering if there's any way to get the web clipper to work with the portable version? I'm using the firefox web clipper extension and it just hangs:

  • OS: Windows 11
  • Web Clipper: Firefox extension v.2.8.1
  • Firefox: 105.0.3
  • Joplin: Windows Portable v2.8.8

Did you enable the web clipper service?

I did not. Why, you ask? Because I'm an idiot. Follow-up question: can I go back in time and not ask this stupid question? :man_facepalming:

I got the erroneous notion it was something to do with the portable version and was unable to see past that.
