Using tables in notes

What issue do you have?

Hello, I am completely new to Joplin as I am considering this program as an alternative to MS OneNote as I am moving to a Linux OS.
Use of tables is fundamental to the way I use OneNote so my query is about the possibility of using tables in Joplin.
I am attaching a screenshot of a typical header template from OneNote.
The website cells contain hyperlinks to websites and the My Data cells contain links to folders on my PC or NAS.
Are any experienced users aware if this sort of layout is possible in Joplin.
Thanks in advance.

Link to external website is of course possible: [named link](https://joplinapp.org/help/apps/markdown)

Link to external file is possible, example for Mac: [Link to external file](file:///Users/foobar/example.pdf)

Some basic table syntax here: Markdown Guide | Joplin

Relevant plugin if you use tables a lot: GitHub - FelisDiligens/joplin-plugin-multimd-table-tools: A collection of tools to make editing tables easier.

Hope this helps.

That’s excellent information, thank you so much for that.

A bit of a learning curve for me there but that’s fine if it helps me break free of Microsoft.

I wonder if there is a way to import my OneNote notes into Joplin, I have a lot of notes, created over many years.

Thanks again for your help :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks, with those 2 replies I reckon I will be well on the way to migrating things over.

As, I say, a bit of a learning curve but I am always up for a challenge to keep the old grey matter ticking over!
