It's not available yet. It is tagged v3.0 on GitHub, it's still probably a very long way until it lands in a stable release of Joplin.
It looks like there was a commit for this last week:
Odd that it would get added to the documentation before the feature was added.
Apparently, this will be released in v3.0:
