Syncthing for Android is being discontinued

Last update will be in december.

Users looking for an alternative can try Syncthing-Fork, a maintained and enhanced Syncthing fork, via F-Droid or Github releases:

For both methods above, visit the Github page, then scroll down to the Switching from the (now deprecated) official version for instructions to switch from the official app.

Official Syncthing Android App will be discontinued · Issue #1149 · Catfriend1/syncthing-android · GitHub sets the expectation that it's a personal project.

It's already out of the Google Play Store. Not sure how the dev will get the December release out - at most probably, a APK one can side load.

This is a setback and I have to check out Syncthing-Fork soon.

Both the official app and the fork are gone from the Play Store. This is because Syncthing requires the "all files access" permission to be able to access files located on SD cards, and Google no longer allows to publish apps that use this permission (except for special cases like file explorers, etc.).

The last updates to the official app are going to be available via GitHub and F-Droid. Syncthing Fork is also available in those two locations. It's very unlikely that Syncthing will ever go back to the Play Store, unless someone rewrites the whole thing to utilise the actual Android permission model (instead of needing to access the whole storage).

Hi,

If you need to synchronize a folder back and forth between your Android phone and a computer you can alternatively use another program that is on GitHub called Roundsync.

You can synchronize manually when you run the program or you can set up an automated schedule.

Files can be copied in One Direction synchronized in One Direction or in both directions. Very good for backing up your photos if you use the copy function.

also you can use

PS: official stores are censored in many ways
