Is Joplin enabled in Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network?

Nothing that comes to mind. But I know that if there's something off with the headers, React Native will print this useless "Network request failed" error instead of telling you what header is wrong. So that's why the reverse proxy should make sure to pass all data exactly as-is.

It seems that I have found the answer to my problem myself. In the post Joplin iOS app does not sync in Joplin Server - #10 by PeBa it was explained that you have to set the switch to True in the iOS settings under Privacy & security -> Local Network -> Joplin. After I made the settings on my iOS devices, the synchronization works perfectly.
