What issue do you have?
Some Markdown like quotation (>quote) doesn't seem to render anymore. Bold and italic are fine.
Try doing some more testing. It works perfectly for me, and I assume for others as there are not comments. If you write it block quote somewhere else, then open it on your Android device does it show properly? In other words, does it only fail when the typing is in Joplin? Is the > at the edge of the screen, not indented? What else can be tried?
Still seems to render in my old notes. I think this only happened with the recent update.
I also don't see the actual Markdown code in editing mode anymore, like ^^bold^^, where ^ represents asterisks.
You aren't in the markdown editor if you aren't seeing markdown. There is some place to switch between the rich text editor and the markdown. I have no idea how an asterisk could get replaced by ^. it is not due to updates alone. Make a brand new note. be sure you are in the markdown editor. Be sure typing an asterisk makes an asterisk.
It's not, in the app. I just used ^ here, because I don't know how to display asterisks ad verbatim without them rendering as Markdown.
Never had a problem in the Android app for years until the most recent update changed things.
You can escape markdown with backslashes, e.g: \*text\* will render as *text* (or just put the text in inline code backticks: *text*)
Are you sure you haven't switched to the rich text editor? (a rich text editor was added to the mobile version somewhat recently). Click the kebab menu on the top right and see if it says "Edit as Markdown" (this means you're currently in the rich text editor; clicking Edit as Markdown will switch to the markdown editor).
