Hi, brand new here & pretty new-ish to Joplin.
I'm a pdf hoarder & messed around with Automator today to come up with a quick way to be able to save PDFs to Joplin via the print dialog. No exhaustive testing done, but it's pretty simple & just thought I'd share in case any other hoarders out there might find it useful.
Save PDF to Joplin
Choose File > Print in any application and then choose Save PDF to Joplin from the PDF button menu. This will convert the document to PDF format and import it into Joplin, with a date & time stamped filename (requires Hotfolder plugin).
Workflow file: Save PDF to Joplin.workflow.zip (222.2 KB)
- Install Jack Gruber’s Hotfolder plugin
- Setup a Hotfolder path in the plugin settings panel
- Double-click
Save PDF to Joplin.workflow
file in Finder & chooseOpen in Automator
- In the 4th step named “Move Finder Items” choose your Joplin Hotfolder directory
- Save workflow & close Automator
- Double-click
Save PDF to Joplin.workflow
file in Finder & chooseInstall
- Enjoy your new PDF to Joplin service!
