Last year's announcement of planned Rocketbook support lured me back to Joplin.
I'm a bit confused as to whether this feature has been implemented or not.
I tried using the 'Scan notebook' option, the one showing a QR code, but it doesn't appear to recognise my Rocketbook pages, i.e. it just takes a photo of the page, exactly the same as the 'Camera' option does.
Also, the 'Scan notebook' option produces a rather large file, 1.1MB, vs 100KB for the 'Camera' option.
Is this supposed to work just like the Rocketbook app, i.e., the page is automatically cropped, and the 'scan' is optimised (straightened, contrast enhanced, and whatever else the Rocketbook app does)? Or am I misunderstanding the 'Scan notebook' function, and the feature hasn't been implemented yet?
I purchased one but then discovered that they didn't have the promised app, you had to sell your soul to the big "G" to get the app, so I returned the thing with a 1-star rating for advertising something they didn't have. Never got the chance to try out Joplin with it, but there were going to be privacy concerns with that as well. That was probably a year ago and I haven't bothered to look at the RocketBook since.
Hi, It's been a while since I've used Rocketbook. Since the last post a year ago, I haven't seen—and I don't think there's been—any update regarding the possibility of Rocketbook and Joplin integration. At least, I haven't read anything about it. On the other hand, with all the new features that have emerged across different platforms, including the latest OCR functionalities in Joplin itself, they have reduced the use cases for Rocketbook in many tasks. Or at least, today there are more possibilities using AI platforms that, before, almost only Rocketbook could offer.
