What issue do you have?

Hi all

I have instances where searching for OCR text finds no results.
Example screens attached.
(1) - embedded image on a Joplin note
(2) - view OCR text shows the image has been OCR'd
(3) - Ctrl P doesnt find any results
(4) - this search also finds no result

I've reviewed Optical Character Recognition (OCR) | Joplin , and the links at Search results for 'search ocr' - Joplin Forum but nothing appeared relevant to my scenario.

How should I search to find the note that includes this text?

according to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBntvBR6RMg you are meant to view the OCR text, then paste it into the body of the note where the image/pdf is stored. then that text becomes searchable. Is this indeed how we are meant to search OCR'd text?

If so, page Optical Character Recognition (OCR) | Joplin should be amended to include this step. Currently the page simply states "When you search, the application will be able to tell you what notes but also what attachments match the query." - glossing over the manual copy/pasting needed to facilitate search.

Also, the joplin published video embedded on the same page (and available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmNsWo2KlF8) at approx 1:00 implies that Ctrl + P will allow text searching. Ctrl P search out of the box doesn't work for me, as evidenced by the print screen embedded on my original post
