What issue do you have?

Hello,

I'm having an issue with OCR in Joplin. The OCR works, but it does not correctly recognize Portuguese accented characters. Words containing characters such as ç, ã, á, é, ê, õ are recognized incorrectly. For example, words like "ação", "informação", and "licitação" are not indexed or extracted correctly.

To try to fix the issue, I have already:

  • Downloaded por.traineddata.gz (Portuguese language data).
  • Placed it in a local folder.
  • Configured OCR: Language data URL or path to point to that folder (not the file itself).
  • Cleared the OCR cache and re-downloaded the language data.
  • Restarted Joplin.
  • Confirmed that the OCR is running successfully.

Despite this, accented Portuguese characters are still not recognized correctly.

Is there anything else I should configure? Is there a known issue with Portuguese OCR or a specific version of the language data that should be used with Joplin?

Thank you!
