Missing Master Key - trying to recover on new device

Version: Joplin 1.0.201 (prod, darwin)
OS: Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4

I was running Joplin on my old iMac desktop (Catalina OS but not sure of the latest update). Apple released an OS update and my computer froze when I tried to install it, so I’ve lost access to that iMac and my original copy of Joplin.

Luckily, I had synced to OneDrive.

So now I’m trying to download the backup from OneDrive onto my new Macbook running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4 and Joplin 1.0.201. But I had E2EE enabled, and it says I’m missing a Master Key, and doesn’t ever seem to download it days later.

It seems like the sync process has completed, according to the status page:

Any advice on what I can do to get these notes decrypted?

Did you search on OneDrive if you have a file called xxx.md where “xxx” is the ID of the master key that’s missing? If you don’t, you’ll need to recover the notes from a backup.
