macOS-style Joplin Theme (by Pierre Lannes)

Hello everyone :waving_hand:

I'm happy to share a custom CSS theme for Joplin inspired by macOS aesthetics.

This theme aims for a clean, readable, and native-feeling UI in both light and dark modes — including refined checkboxes, a compact note list with multi-line titles, subtle separators, and styling optimized for clarity and focus.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: GitHub repository (with instructions):

:hammer_and_wrench: Includes:

  • userchrome.css – full UI theme
  • userstyle.css – minimal Markdown rendering style

:sparkles: Features:

  • Sidebar and note list styled to match macOS Mail
  • Custom checkboxes (UI + Markdown) with proper theming
  • Multi-line titles, elegant hover and selection states
  • Compatible with both light and dark system appearance
  • Maintained and versioned on GitHub

:package: Installation:
Just drop the files in your Joplin config folder (Tools > Options > Appearance > Open config directory) and restart Joplin. Full steps in the README.

Feedback welcome — I'm an ergonomist and UX designer, and I'd love to hear what works for you and what could be improved!

Cheers,
Pierre Lannes

For a theme, it's always a good idea to provide a screenshot to see how it will look
