Likely a rendering issue, not missing data. In configuration, editor, try disabling this setting: 'Markdown editor: Render markup in editor'. If that fixes it, please post a screenshot of the result as well

A long time ago, when I accidentally deleted some of my data, I was able to restore it using Joplin's extensive version history. But that was due to my own carelessness. This seems to be a bug in the latest update. I'm hoping that my actual data in the Dropbox sync target remains untouched!

Good to know. I've pretty much been living and working off mobile for years due to my country's pandemic lockdowns. So I have very limited experience with Joplin on any other platform. P.S. I think I tried that rendering setting earlier and it didn't work. Will continue debugging!

I am aware. What I mean is that the internal note links were not followable even in View mode. But the issue seems to have resolved itself now!
