I mean HTTP requests are not allowed anymore for iOS apps?!
Therefore the connection have to be configured as https, but I'm not sure.
The subdomain I have is routed using nginx proxy manager and I set the https certificate there through letsencrypt. I use https.
Any ideas?
Hi,
I got the same error when trying to connect to Nextcloud until today. Then I found out that in the iOS settings, under Apps and Joplin, the setting Local network was not enabled. After enabling Local network the sync worked just fine.
So, if you are running the server on your local network, have a look at that setting.
Your proxy is passing all the headers correctly?
@PeBa could you please send a screenshot?
@laurent in NPM I do not have any custom headers configured. Is there any specific for Joplin to work?
Thanks!
Nothing that comes to mind. But I know that if there's something off with the headers, React Native will print this useless "Network request failed" error instead of telling you what header is wrong. So that's why the reverse proxy should make sure to pass all data exactly as-is.
My iPhone doesn’t have English language, so I borrowed a picture You should find Joplin under Privacy &security, Local Network. I don’t know if it is the default setting or if it is me..
Thanks both!
@PeBa I do not have Joplin there because the app has not requested access. I was trying to find it but In the config section on Joplin app there is no way to request the access. How did you manage?
@laurent So I guess this is the standard behavior as there is no custom config in my NPM. Or how do you check that?
Hm, I have no idea. Could it be that when I chose the server type Nextcloud or WebDAV(I was testing both), the app requested access?
So maybe if you try changing the server type to for example WebDAV temporarily it will trigger a request for LAN network, then change back to Joplin server. A lot of guessing from me
