What issue do you have?

Ahoy there,

I am using joplin desktop 3.2.11 on a macbook pro running OSX 15.2

I am seeing this error: "The sync target needs to be upgraded before Joplin can sync. The operation may take a few minutes to complete and the app needs to be restarted. To proceed please click on the link. Restart and upgrade"

My guess is my self-hosted joplin server needs to be upgraded.

I installed the joplin server on an ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS host. I installed via docker compose and I am not clear the version of the server. How do I figure that out? The image is "etechonomy/joplin-server:latest"

Once I figure out the version are there clear instructions for upgrading the server. Also how do I back up the database and other attributes and content so I have another copy in case there are issues upgrading? Another option is turning up a new version of joplin on another server and migrate the existing content over. Is that possible?

Thank you in advance for any answers or links that have the answers.

Cheers

I don't believe this is a OS-specific issue. I've this upgrade message appear on MacOS 15.2 and Windows 10 ever since upgrading to 3.2.11.

The issue also isn't related to self-hosted Joplin Server. In my case, I'm using OneDrive to sync my notes.

The message goes away after clicking "Restart and Upgrade", but the message returns within a day.

I upgraded to v3.2.12 today. So far, so good. I don't see anything in the release notes that might tie into the problem noted, but v3.2.12 seems to have fixed my issue.
