Is there a simple way to reorder bulleted/checkbox lists within notes?

Operating system

Windows

Joplin version

3.2.13

What issue do you have?

I am new to Joplin. If I have a notebook, with checkbox notes within the notebook, and within a checkbox note there is a bulleted or checkbox list, how can I reorder the list, (or, is there an plugin for this.)? I checked the list of plugins but didn't see one that applied.

I am finding that trying to reorder the checkbox list, just highlights and moving the highlight tends to mix up the list.

One day maybe...
Tools > Options > keyboard shortcuts > swap line up and swap line down...

yes, swap lines (alt up, alt down) does move lines in numbered/bulleted lists, only if both editors are open, and only if the cursor is in left side editor. I am guessing left side is markdown, but I don't know for sure. Strange to need to take up space with 2 editors open, and to get hotkeys to work.

Alt+up/down arrow ?

right alt up/down arrows.
I just figured out that I can change view to one window, not showing both editors at same time. that's nice.

I also tried a setting that wound up removing the task bar, and am trying to figure out how to get it back! never mind: found hotkey ctrl-shift-m

"Task bar" : what do you mean. Sidebar ? Menu bar ? Note list ?
For them, I set a personnal keyboard shortcut :

Don't forget to restart Joplin...

right, I was referring to menu bar.

btw: is there a hotkey combo for "date"?

Steph, is there something in your post that refers to hotkey for Date? If so, I am not seeing it.

Yes there is : "Insert time" (it's in fact time and date !).
By default : [CTRL] [SHIFT] [T]

I wonder if there is a way to change it: remove 'time' , change date to mo/day/year format.

I don't know how to remove time. I would be happy to know too !
Or also to have juste time and not the date.
Anyway : everything at disposal seems here:

There's a plugin : "Insert Date"... It works for me

I created a new topic in order to help others with the same asking.
We still need to be able to only insert time !

Steph, thanks. I have installed the Insert Date plugin. Location of the icon for using it isn't obvious, took a while to locate it.
Have also been experimenting with others: Note Tabs, Favorites, Tagging. Likely won't keep Favorites, since it doesn't do anything for me that Note Tabs isn't doing, Likewise with Tagging. it doesn't seem to be an improvement over what is native to Joplin, at least for my use. I am surprised that the tagging dialog doesn't show all available tags by default, but requires hitting the down arrow; a useless extra step.

I have just discovered that Note Tabs and Favorites don't sync to other devices. This makes them not very useful for me. I want to be see a list of items that need to be worked on soon/today, and be able to order them. if a list won't sync to other devices, this will be confusing, and not as informative. oh well. I guess I can try using tags to accomplish this.

Also, i will try posting a new topic to see if I am missing something, or there is a different plugin to use.
