Improve sharing flexibility: share a single note, and enable sharing from mobile

Hi everyone,
First of all, I want to say how much I love Joplin. I've looked for a solution for a long time and it’s one of the rare tools that manages to be both powerful and ethical.
That’s why I’d like to raise a few points that could make collaboration even better:

  1. Sharing a single note isn’t possible.
Currently, collaboration can only happen at the notebook level. To share one specific note with someone, you have to create a new notebook, move that note into it, and share the whole notebook. This feels cumbersome for something as simple as “share this note.”
  2. Creating a share requires the desktop app.
On mobile, I can view and edit shared notebooks once invited, but I can’t create or manage shares from the app. This breaks the otherwise smooth experience Joplin offers on all platforms.
  3. Practical impact.
For quick collaboration (for example, sharing one note with a colleague) these limitations create unnecessary friction.

Suggestion:

  • Allow sharing of individual notes, not only notebooks.
  • Add sharing management (create, accept, revoke) directly in the mobile app.
I know Joplin’s architecture is designed around notebooks, but even a simplified per-note share (similar to “publish note,” but with authentication and optional write access) would be a huge quality-of-life improvement.
Thanks for all the work that goes into Joplin. It’s already an amazing project, and these small additions could make it even more versatile for everyday collaboration.

Another nice-to-have would be a notification when a new note has been added to a shared notebook, or when a note has been updated. The latter may be tricky due to Joplin’s autosave feature.

Second this. Wondering what is preventing sharing function to be implemented to iOS and Android clients. I could not even check which notebooks are shared in mobile apps.
