What issue do you have?

I can sync to my Nextcloud server from various devices (PC, laptop, phone).

However, when I try to sync with https://app.joplincloud.com/ using identical login credentials, it gives me an error:

Error. Please check that URL, username, password, etc. are correct and that the sync target is accessible. The reported error was:
NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource.

This happens even when I have shut down the Joplin desktop app or when attempting from a device that doesn't have the app installed.

We are changing this particular endpoint to support just Joplin Cloud sync. To use the web app with your other sync services, you have the option self host the app

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I want to suggest removing all those sync options from the web app, or putting up a banner, as I've spent quite a few hours trying to get this to work, because it seemed it should be possible from having those options in the app.

This all started when I tried to sync the Joplin terminal application to my Nextcloud from an OpenBSD laptop. That didn't work, so I switched to the browser version.

Thanks for the tip about self-hosting! I'll look into that.

Where can we find instructions on how to self-host the app? I've found directions for Joplin Server, but not for the webapp.

You self-host a Joplin server in order to connect to it via any browser using the Joplin web application.

I already do that, but I understood from the message that only Joplin Cloud will be available to sync for the Joplin web application? Joplin Server is not Joplin Cloud.
