What issue do you have?

My database is too big for my android devices. Synchronize doesn't work. I'm using Joplin Cloud. So, I created a new profile. Personal. I exported a couple of notebooks (with sub-notebooks). It worked. Then, with the new Personal profile, I did File/Synchronize. It is synchronizing the Default. I'd like to synchronize the smaller profile. How do I do that?

Is there a way to synchronize more than one profile and keep them separate? Or do I need to delete the cloud database and only synchronize the Personal?

I've got another idea. I just won't synchronize my main database, just a smaller one. So, how do I leave all my data on my computer and delete the data in Joplin cloud? Then create a new small profile and sync that to the cloud and then to my Android devices?

I'm learning more and more. It seems that the tablet I was using was able to sync, it just took about 30 hours. There is a real problem with the feedback regarding long sync processes. This one seemed to crash or fail a few times. It seemed to complete when it hadn't. Eventually, I learned to just keep on syncing and not worry about issues or apparent success. Then in time, a sync will just come back without doing anything (or maybe a few remote deletes), and then VoilĂ , I'm synced.

This made me look at my phone, which I'd imagined was syncing. I use Joplin, and it is important to sync my tablet and Windows computer. But, it is nice to have a copy of my Joplin notes on my phone too. The phone is less powerful. I thought I was updating my phone every few weeks when I did a sync from it, and it synced a few thousand items and indicated it was done. However, I've learned that a 2-hour sync of thousands of items and then ending peacefully, as if successful, is no indication things are synced. You must repeat the process again and again, for perhaps many days, until syncing doesn't start up another round of a few thousand items. I've started they sync process over 4 times on my phone after it appeared to finish successfully. It is still going on the fourth round.

I'm going to try SyncThing. Perhaps that will work better for me. I understand it is slower, but continuous background syncing might be better for me.

OK. This is my final, (I hope), post on this issue. In my trial, it took more than twice as long to sync an android device with the android file system (19,000 files, 360 Meg), than to sync to Joplin Cloud. After 3 days, Joplin was still working away trying to create the local sync. It was nearly done, but it was clear that this wasn't a solution. Furthermore, I've had NO issues with maintaining a synced database, only with syncing the first time or syncing after not syncing for a few weeks. I just have to assume, it'll require hours of starts and stops to sync if I miss a few weeks and it'll take a couple of days to sync up a new device.

Also, I did a data sort and have started deleting most of my old notes. I'm up to 2011 now as I imported from Evernote.

Maybe things will improve if Joplin takes advantages of the changes in version 15
