What issue do you have?

I activated E2E encryption yesterday, then realized my password was poor so I changed it to a long alphanumerical string. I managed to sync all my devices, but I don't understand why some devices wanted the old password and some needed the new long password.

I also don’t understand the difference between the “master” key and the “encryption key”.

How can I be sure that my original poor password isn’t used anymore, and that Joplin only uses the newer stronger password?

Is my question not clear enough? Or too difficult to answer? Should I clarify something?

Probably difficult to answer. I don’t know any of the answers

The best approach would be to start by backing up your Joplin data. Then, delete your NextCloud account since the password is weak and clear out the data in Joplin.

After that, restart the process. This time, make sure you encrypt your data with a strong password from the beginning. Create a new cloud account, and finally, re-enable data syncing.
