What issue do you have?

Hello. How can I setup Cloud server such as DropBox on iPhone?

In windows desktop, there is a sync wizard that allows me to login to Dropbox and get a Dropbox synch key. iPhone got no such field that I can input that dropbox key. it just let me choose dropbox from the list and set a masterpassword and that's all. It is the same with Onedrive option there.

@Epoche welcome to the forum.

After selecting Dropbox as an option have you pressed the "synchronise" button?

"In the desktop application or mobile application, select "Dropbox" as the synchronisation target in the Configuration screen (it is selected by default). Then, to initiate the synchronisation process, click on the "Synchronise" button in the sidebar and follow the instructions."

Quoted from Joplin Dropbox Sync - Help Page.

The button on the the main screen of app? I can’t remember now. But That button suppose to synchronize that with what mate? The app never got my dropbox info in the configuration settings. You can see that in screenshots.

I switched to trying to synch with Cloudflare R2 S3 earlier and my iPhone was able to connect there successfully since the iphone app settings asks for your cloudflare info. But I ended up with an error there within Joplin Windows app. I opened another ticket for that.

Edit: added details

Selecting Dropbox and triggering the first sync by pressing the "Synchronise" button starts the Dropbox log in process with the Dropbox server. That is where you provide your Dropbox user/pass/2fa details etc. to Dropbox (not Joplin) and authorise Joplin to have access to a folder on Dropbox that will be used for syncing. That's why the instructions end with,

"... and follow the instructions."

I guess that it could be clearer that this means the instructions from Dropbox to authorise the Joplin client.

I believe that this method means that Dropbox ends up granting Joplin some kind to token allowing it to access a specific folder, rather than giving Joplin the Dropbox login credentials and allowing read / write access to everything in the Dropbox account.
