Hi, as I said in the title, my name is Aaron and I am a Masters student. I am doing a paper where I am required to work on an Open Source project and my team has chosen Joplin to work on. I was sad to see that PRs from new contributors is currently closed but I thought i would drop in and say hi, anyways. We still plan to work on fixing bugs for the academic side of things on a fork of Joplin. If you are interested, we would still love to contribute our work.

Ah. Fair enough. We actually suspected this was the likely reasons for the PRs being closed. Well we will keep working on a self contained fork of the repo for our assignment anyways. We should still learn heeps even if we can't make pull requests to the actual Joplin repo
