What issue do you have?

Please help me get SpellCheck to work.
I can't figure out what I am doing wrong, but Spellcheck won't work at all on my Linux Desktop app.

"Tools > Spell Check" is enabled, and the language (United Kingdom) is ticked

"Tools > Option " Enable SpellCheck In Markdown Editor - ticked or unticked, doesn't make any difference, even after app restart.

I can't find any other SpellCheck-related settings.

OK, this is just too weird...

After several months of not being able to get the spell check to work, I reached out here for help, and the next day, the spell check is now working.

What, how??? Dunno, but it's flagging up my spelling mistakes again as it should.

Was Joplin prevented from accessing the Internet before? Spell checking requires network access to download dictionaries, at least when you enable it for the first time.

@tomasz86
It was always able to access the internet, and I use Joplin's back-up sync server across a few devices, so I know it was accessing the internet just fine. I am really not sure what happened, i have used Joplin for a number of years, trouble-free. Then, at some point, the Spellcheck stopped working on my desktop, my phone app worked just fine. I had looked at the problem a number of times, without success. Then, finally decided that I was fed up and needed help, so posted on here yesterday. Today, when I went to use Joplin, the spellcheck was working again. I don't believe that I did anything different to normal.

Maybe I did do something and didn't realise it?

I am just glad it's working again.

I got the same problem. The Spellchek isn't working on Linux.
Can someone help?
