What issue do you have?
How do I search notes for Markdown terms, mathematical symbols in particular?
I notice that it works fine for numbers, but not once I need to find something like x=2.
You can try using Basic Search:

I missed it in the Help documentation, because I thought it was a stripped-down version of full text search.
Will continue testing.
P.S. Is this the "custom search mode" the article refers to?
