Currently, the Joplin desktop app always shows "Joplin" in the window title, regardless of which note is open. This means that when switching between windows — or when hovering over the taskbar button on Windows — there is no way to identify the active note at a glance.
I would like the window title (and therefore the taskbar button label) to reflect the title of the currently open note, ideally in a format such as:
Note title – Joplin
or, if notebook context is useful:
Note title (Notebook name) – Joplin
This behaviour is common in other editors (VS Code, for instance, lets users configure title bar format), and it significantly improves usability when Joplin is one of several open applications. A setting to toggle this behaviour on or off would make it unobtrusive for those who prefer the current display.
I'm aware that a pull request addressing this (#4390) was reverted in the past. I'd be happy to see this reconsidered, either as a core feature or as something exposed to plugins.
