Under Configuration => Synchronisation => Advanced options, try to untick "Use sync locks" since they aren't really needed, and see if that helps with that error.

Unticked no change same error message. Additionally I just installed Joplin on my Win 11 laptop and same error. I'm using WebDav on a Synology NAS to sync.

OK. Thanks for your efforts. I have now changed the config on phone and desktop and added a joplin folder to my home on the NAS. All seems to be working fine. Thanks to Senior-Discount's response on the Joplin in NAS Synology(WebDav) Thread (which I didn't find on my search initially).
