Edit Xournal++ files within Joplin

Dear Joplin Development Team,

I am writing to propose the integration of Xournal++ file support within Joplin. This topic has already been addressed two or three times, but somehow the core idea got lost in the crowd. Feature request: Inline Xournal++ files (.xopp files)
Supporting .xopp files would enhance Joplin's functionality for students who rely on handwritten notes.

Key Points:

  • Handwritten Notes: Many students use Xournal++ for its handwriting capabilities. Integration would streamline their note-taking experience in Joplin.
  • Competitive Edge: This feature would position Joplin and of course Xournal++ as well, as a strong alternative to OneNote, attracting a wider user base.
  • User Demand: There is a visible demand for better integration of handwritten note-taking tools within Joplin. Combining those tools together, makes it the perfect UI for students.

Request Details:

  • Feature: Open and edit Xournal++ files within Joplin.
  • User Interface: Ensure a seamless transition between typed and handwritten notes.
  • Export Options: Allow users to export notes in various formats.

That's a great idea, and I would welcome it if it could be implemented.

My perception is also that handwritten notes are increasingly in demand, and better integration into Joplin would improve its position.
