In short, Chinese users hope that the vim mode of joplin can automatically switch to the English input method when ESC returns to the command mode, just like many editor plug-ins do.
Seems tricky to switch input methods directly from the app, but if someone knows how to do it I'd accept a pull request.
I've just started using Visual Studio Code, but have you considered using it as Joplin's external note editor with one of the Vim emulators like VSCodeVim?
I have always used vscode as an editor for joplin, and even used it as a client through a plug-in. . . This is a function that a group of friends want, we don’t have much demand for it
