Do I really need an activation link?

What issue do you have?

I set up my account today and have the account banner telling me that I need to click the activation link. However (a) I have not received the email, have tried resending it from my account page and still no and (b) everything seems to be working perfectly, including sync between my phone and desktop.

Update: a pile of activation messages just showed up, not sure what happened but issue is now resolved.
