Case sensitive/insensitive note search

  • The operating system you are using: Linux Mint 19.04

question

Dear all,
I was wondering, is there a way to specific case sensitive vs. case insensitive search?

The Searching section in the readme gives some tips on wildcards and search term formats, but doesn’t say anything about case. https://joplinapp.org/#searching

thanks

No, it’s always case insensitive.

The newer syntax is somewhat case sensitive though. For example, the following does not work as intended:

Tag:receipts

I need to use:

tag:receipts

I believe the search syntax should be completely case insensitive. On Android for example, the first letter always gets capitalized by autocorrect, so keywords like "Tag:" always require correction.

@mzguy, that will be fixed in the next version.

I just checked with ver. 2.9.17 on Windows. Still not fixed. The search is case sensitive. I hope it could have option to disable or enable. Thanks.
