Cannot connect to Joplin server from IOS but can from desktop app on same network

What issue do you have?

I keep getting a network error when trying to configure the IOS app to connect to the joplin server. I can connect to this joplin server from a macos desktop app and both are on the same wifi network. Interestingly, I can take the server url and place it in a webrowser on the IOS device and that will connect.

The exact error on IOS is "Network Request Failed"

Anyone seen this before?

This is a new setup so that might be an issue too.

Are you using Joplin server on http or using a self signed certificate?

There are some limitations on iOS specifically which may not allow you to use Joplin Server over http (it's not an issue on desktop or Android). I'm not sure about the details of that, but using https and a proper certificate (it may not work if self signed) would resolve the issue
