Are plugins in the official repo vetted for quality/security?

Subject mostly covers it, I wasn't clear if the plugins that have made it into the official repo/plugins directory were examined for quality and security issues? Not so much quality as in "are they polished?" but more like "are they likely to accidentally delete your notes?" And the security being mostly "does this contain malware, does it contain any backdoors someone could use to access your notes or computer?"

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but couldn't figure out a better place. Thanks. (I'm on 2.8.8 and Windows 10.)

No every plugin is published to the offical repro.

Recommendation status of plugins after update

Yes, because no full review is made of the plugins. This was discussed in the topic plugin recomendation and generally at the plugin implementation. In order to do this, the plugin would have to be reviewed ever time a new relase is published , but manpower is lacking for this and the plugin would not be allowed to be published until it has been reviewed. And yes any plugin can contain malicious code, recomendet or not.

If there are reports for a malicious plugin then of course action would be taken to check the claims and remove it from the repo but it isn't checked upon submission, no.
