Android new note shortcut fails if app is in memory

Does anyone else have this? It feels to me (just programmer's instict :lightly_smiling_face: ) like it could be related to this issue:

Ok, it works for me sometimes but not others. If I had Joplin open recently, the note will save. If I haven't, it doesn't work. At least that's what I believe I'm seeing. If I make a change to the note before saving, it saves every time as it did before the bug fix. It reminds me of this issue, with how behavior changes apparently depending on whether Joplin is in memory or not:
