When I'm searching through my notes, I'm using "Go To Anything". The usual search (F6), which has an input field on the Windows app, isn't as useful as it should be. The "Go To Anything" suits me better, but I would like to have it as a permanent field on the application, as the usual search (F6).
For the usual search, a user clicks into the field and starts typing. In the "Go To Anything" search, a user has to click into the app, then press Ctrl+P (or navigate through menus) and only then can a user start typing.
I suggest:
- existing search field should be customizable (which way of searching users use)
- a list of results from "Go To Anything" should have "open in new window" so user can compare two or more notes
Months (years) ago, someone created a "Joplin VS Code-style Search Plugin". It looks promising, but the author stopped developing before it became a very useful tool.
