Sync only selected notebooks

Is there a way to tell Joplin on Mac to only sync selected folders?
Also is there selective notebook encryption?

I have folders with bills and such, that I only use for archiving and do not need to have access on the phone. There are others that I do want to sync to access on the phone.

I found this while searching for the very same feature (I suppose there are even more threads about it). There's a property that can be set in the database which I'm going to try for me as soon as I get the chance.

Exclude notebooks from syncing

There’s a sync_disabled property that is supported and used to prevent certain items from syncing, but it’s not exposed in the UI. Depending on your use case, you can do it yourself though by running SQL on the database.sqlite profile. The query would be something like this: update sync_items set sync_disabled = 1 where item_id = 'NOTEBOOK_ID' or item_id IN (SELECT id FROM notes WHERE parent_id='NOTEBOOK_ID') (replacing NOTEBOOK_ID with your notebook ID)
