Quick way to create "new note in a default folder {or undefined}"

I’m quite surprised this hasn’t been asked for (I only found it requested for mobile) so adding it here as a feature request. I’m a developer and during the day I often want to jot down some quick notes, but I don’t want to think about where it should belong at that time of creation. Often times it can fit into multiple folders based on the content - which is what tags are good for, but I have to eventually choose a folder, which is fine, I just don’t want to waste the time up front when I’m busy to have to think about what folder to put it in. I just want to be able to take the note, but I really don’t want it ending up in the last folder I was in, that’s very annoying. I want it to start out in a default folder such as “inbox” or “unassigned.” I searched for some plugins and not sure which one could really accomplish this.

I’d even settle for a quick way to select, with a short cut, the folder first then ctrl-n to make the note. Any help much appreciated.

the journal plugin allows you to quickly create daily notes: Joplin Plugins - Journal

That plugin is overkill with all the template stuff and didn’t see where you can force a default folder, but regardless, again, it’s too much stuff related to templating. I ended up making the plugin (well Claude did in 2 minutes:) Works well, just can’t figure out how to go about submitting it. If anyone wants to try until then it’s here https://github.com/rickcr/joplin-new-note-in-default Of course it could be enhanced. Right now I just hard coded the short cut to ctrl-o and defaulted a title “new note {time stamp}” You set the default folder you want in plugin options.
