Preventing Auto-Generated Filenames when inserting Images

Operating system

Windows

Joplin version

3.3.13

  1. When copying or attaching an image, Joplin automatically inserts a filename next to it.
  2. These filenames often appear duplicated within the note.
  3. Even after manually deleting them, they tend to regenerate.

:red_question_mark: Question

Is there a way to configure Joplin to disable automatic image filenames when inserting pictures into notes?

:pushpin: Additional Info

Based on discussions in Related Topics, I found this behavior is probably triggered by the Rich Markdown or Enhancement plugins.

Welcome to the forum!

Unique identifiers for attachments are indispensible for the way Joplin works. When you export the note (or its notebook) however, the original file names are restored.

Thanks for the feedback!

Uninstalling the Rich Markdown and Enhancement plugins immediately solved the issue — my notes are now clean and free from the auto-generated image filenames.
