Note: Joplin Desktop Pre-release 3.7.3 - Internal Data Profile Change

I have no idea but people do revert and there have been numerous support requests because there was a profile change that stopped them. A couple of years ago I raised the matter of making these fundamental changes clearer albeit there was no response.

I rarely install pre-releases but I was going to do so this time on one of my machines as I believe that the broken markdown editor spellchecker may be working in this pre-release**. I would not have been happy to do that to find, without warning, it prevented all my other machines from syncing. I even tested it in a VM first but it was only @mrjo118's post that alerted me to the sync change. I would never have known. Even the help about dialog in v3.7.3 says the sync version is just "3" (Not that that is helpful after the installation)

A pinned forum post or even in the post where you tell everyone that the pre-release is available?

They definitely can't read them if there isn't one.

I just thought it would be helpful to let users know when there are going to be breaking changes made.

(** = It isn't)
