The Kanban project is promising but confusing. You can't seem to toggle the Kanban panel. You can close it, but you can't seem to be able to reopen it.
What issue do you have?
If I close the Kanban panel, I can't figure out how to get it back. I expected there to be an ON/OFF toggle somewhere, but I can't find it. What am I missing?
Also, the refresh of that panel is so darn twitchy.
Thanks. —t
P.S. Speaking of toggling panels on and off. Can we someday move all toggle buttons to a top-level menu or something similar that manages panel visibility? Right now, you either toggle a plugin panel via Tools > the Plugin entry > a menu item toggler, or, for some plugins, you use a button on top of a note, but those buttons go away if you are not viewing a note at the moment—annoying!.
Just want to say I'm with you in the same boat, but I have a possible workaround for you.
Workaround:
If you have closed it and want to reopen it, you can go shortly to another note and then open again the kanban note. The kanban panel will reopen automatically. It's far from perfect but better one possibility than none, right?
I hope this helps you a little against this annoying situation.
That workaround works. But, man this plugin is twitchy. Sometimes I crank up Joplin and the Kanban window appears and it just says Loading … forever and won't clear even if you browse to a Kanban note. And you can't close the panel if it is in that state.
The Kanban Plugin is listed as one of the Recommended plugins and... I just think it is too immature to be recommended (ahem, @laurent). It is challenging, unintuitive to use, and sometimes just doesn't work as expected or at all.
That's a good point, I've removed it from the recommended plugins now. It's a pity there's no maintainer for this plugin since it's one of the most popular ones
If this were 20 years ago, I would jump on this. Alas, my coding skills were mothballed long ago. ... This seems ripe for someone to grab and run with though. How do we promote the opportunity?
I don't think there's a way to promote it. If someone's using the plugin and is interested enough in improving it they can already create pull requests.
Actually looks like there are two open pull requests which weren't merged. @PackElend, do you think we can actually merge them or are there issues with them?
