@anon33605855 Come over and meet me on my Jitsi server and let's talk: https://jitsi.scottibyte.com/joplinserver
Something seems to be incorrect due to a known Jitsi setup error (I also rock my own server of that, too), so let's use the centralised one: Jitsi Meet
@anon33605855 So, sometimes you just have to eliminate everything most likely first and go back and figure out what is left. As you said, "Look at your reverse proxy!". So, my horrible hosting issue with QNAP seems to have corrupted my NginX Proxy Manager instance. Well, NPM worked, just not completely and not all the time. In digging through the NPM logs I found access violations in the code. That didn't make sense to me. So I nuked my NPM instance and created a new one and laboriously entered all 41 reverse proxy entries and tested each one at a time.
So, needless to say, the first reverse proxy I created was for Joplin server. Oh and in my debugging, I nuked the entire Joplin server and started over. That didn't help either. However (and yes you can tell me, I told you so) the new NPM miraculously synced properly.
So, apparently NPM can be "kinda" broken and can "sorta" work. Anyway, I want to thank you for your ideas and thoughts dealing with this. I should have known better when it broke and I had not done anything.
Whoa, that was one laborous effort, congratulations! I'm truly sorry you had to deal with this due to someone else's mistake.
However, I'm really glad we could talk and think this through, I definitely consider it a success, in the end.
As a side note, if you (or any of your users) encounter a "typical" "You have been disconnected" error upon connecting to a Jitsi meeting again, just as I did, ping me if you like: ibenny@protonmail.com
I've met basically all it's quirks in the past 18 months, I may have some ideas for that, too.
I want to say thanks again Ben. Sometimes it just takes the overall weight of two gurus to diagnose some problems. I have run Jitsi from the beginning and I have run into literally everything that Jitsi can do both good and bad. I finally have a greenlight across all my hosted services, but the overall perfect storm I had leads me to believe I may still find more. Contact me anytime if you have issues that you are fighting with. --Scott
