Joplin Cloud: Cannot share encrypted notebook with recipient xx@xx because they have not enabled

Joplin 2.9.17 (prod, darwin)
macOS 13.2.1
Joplin Cloud Pro
E2EE enabled

Hi,

I tried to share a notebook with somebody and got the error message

<<Cannot share encrypted notebook with recipient xx@xx because they have not enabled end-to-end encryption. They may do so from the screen Configuration > Encryption.>>

Please tell me how to share a notebook with somebody??

That person must be on Joplin cloud ? On a different own account? On the same account?

Best regards,
Ulrich

Hello, they must be on Joplin Cloud and they need to enable encryption. Otherwise the notes would have to be shared in plaintext which would compromise the security of your data.

Hi Laurent,

thanks for your reply.

To understand it correctly: the other person needs at least a Joplin Cloud Basis Plan, if I want to share notebooks with her? E2EE enabled. What about the master password?

Or, I must share my login credentials of my Joplin Cloud Plan account with her?

Best regards,
Ulrich

They need to have Joplin Cloud Pro. If a password is needed, the app will ask for it
