Is it possible to copy text from the rich editor without formatting?

Version: Joplin 2.8.8 (prod, linux)

When I copy formatted text (bold for example) I also get the stars surrounding the text. Is it possible to copy text from the rich formatter without copying the formatting itself?

I think it’s not possible.

Sorry, if this might be a mere misunderstanding: If copied from the rich text editor, text can be pasted elsewhere with or without formatting (by using CTRL-ALT-V) for example. No stars attached - except if copied from the markdown editor. I like editing in MD, but for copy/paste purposes I frequently have to change editors, which is one of the downsides of Joplin IMO.

I'm guessing that shortcut only works on Windows? It's not working for me in KDE Plasma

That's why I wrote "for example"

I wonder if there's a replacement for this functionality in MacOS or Linux. My only experience with the latter is with Debian/Gnome (as part of TAILS), but I gather that keyboard shortcuts can vary widely from distro to distro.

Windows uses Ctrl+Shift+V. As far as I am aware, this one should also work in many Linux desktop environments too, or at least the major ones.
