Hide formatting bar

Hello, as a wee improvement, could you hide/block the formatting bar when you have selected the read only layout? I consider it as a bug that in that layout I can still clic on any icon of this bar and the note change its content.

Thanks

Hi,
On which device / plateform ?

I use Linux Manjaro and I’ve tested the shame in Ubuntu

Seconded.
I also prefer to use the kbd shortcuts most of the time.
But the thing that annoys me most is the tab order - when I enter the note title and press the tab key, it cycles through the entire bar.

i think the tab order sequence has not been rethink as before the toolbar, the tab allow us to jump from the title to the text body.

Yep, the format bar should only get focus when pressing a shortcut key first (e.g. cmd + .).

The tab key should only be used to switch from title to body.

Just my 2 cents.

Yes, in read only mode, the format bar should not be there.

@MaxG, I’ve added a feature request for it - https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/issues/1896
