I just downloaded Joplin desktop. I would like to sync notes to ~/Documents/Notes and under tools > options > synchronization I selected target: File System and Directory /home/douggie/Documents/Notes
When Joplin started syncing notes here they look like this:
Expectation/desired goal would be notes synced by name in this directory, e.g. 'Note 1', 'Example note' etc.
I'd also like to add sub directories, e.g. 'Work' and 'Personal' - just a basic file sync with my directory system. Is this possible? It looks like I can only sync with a single directory.
Others can provide more color, but the sync folder is not meant to be accessed by the user. Don't change anything in there. You should only interact with your notes via the client apps.
I would like to come back to the second part of the request, multiple directories.
There is many use cases for that, so it would be very nice to have the option to define separate folders for (top level) notebooks, as it can be done in OneNote, e.g.
It would allow many options for different backup, separation of different projects, project based user access (by file system access rules).
IMHO, It would be a powerful feature.
