You might find this thread helpful. It'll publish to GitHub Pages which gives you free hosting and a bunch of other tools.
This isn't my area of expertise so if you want to know more/have questions/concerns/etc, I'd recommend asking @rxliuli (author of the above plugin), since they seem to have done a lot of work on blogging tools.
