Please change the tab order

The correct tab order for a new note should be Title, then Body. PLEASE change this. It's been requested several times and seemingly ignored. Thanks

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Could you explain? What "tabs"?

If you mean that when you create a new note currently the body is in focus: I though about this, and sometimes it makes sense, but OTOH sometimes I just want to quickly take a note and in such case focus on the body is preferable. So I'm not sure which one I'd prefer.

When you create a new note and type in it's title, the tab key should then take you to the body of the note, and not to the font style buttons. Does that make sense?

Yes.

I think the same. Tha would be most user friendly I think.

But how would you go to the buttons in such case? I don't have a good answer, I guess that's the reason why it works like this.

Also, if you press enter when in title, it will go to the body. So there's a workaround. Although I usually forget and press tab anyway...

For reference, these are some of the focus order guidelines Joplin tries to satisfy.

Thanks. Although I'm not sure if you want to say that the current order is correct and/because it follows the guidelines, or just sharing the link to something related?

Maybe a solution would be to change the order of elements, i.e. put the Title just above the Body, similar to how it is on Android app. That way the tab order would naturally go Title<->Body.

BTW, on related topic, currently the notebook name is in it's own line. This wastes vertical space. Maybe this could be improved too, if the layout could be changed.

This is absolutely correct and it's bothered me for some time; this is the natural UI logic one would expect and that you'd find in similar contexts in other apps, eg an email app tabbing from subject takes you to the body. It's fast and logical and makes sense so I agree it would be nice to get this fixed.

There are quite a few other similar UI inconsistencies in Joplin that I'd like to be addressed too at some point - I'll aim to put together a separate post about these soon.

Thanks
